About IFPRAE

The purpose of IFPRAE is to acquire, catalog, archive and preserve original flat patterns and distribute copies of garment patterns that have historical, research or practical value to costume & fashion designers, cutters, re-enactors, historians, vintage clothing reproducers, sociologists and anthropologists.

The original patterns will be converted to electronic/ digital format for distribution and will be available for sale.

There will be all categories of patterns: men's, women's, children's, household and crafts. Eventually there will be vintage crochet and knitting patterns and vintage sewing and patterning books.

Patterns range from the mid-nineteenth century through the 1950's. We will supply these patterns in either paper format (plotted/ printed copies of the original patterns) or electronic format in the form of Acrobat (PDF) or DXF (for CAD systems or "draw" software that will accept the DXF format) for downloading or on removable disk.
